Choosing an education provider
Choose the place where you can learn well.
There is no single education provider that is right for everyone. Compare the things that will shape your day-to-day experience: location, timetable, course structure, teaching approach, learning culture and the support available to you.
Think honestly about how you learn, how much time you can give to classes and independent study, and whether you feel comfortable asking questions and practising in that environment. The best choice is a credible course that also works for your life.
Location and travel
Choose somewhere you can reach reliably throughout the course. Consider journey time, travel costs, parking and accessibility as well as the town or region.
Timetable and commitment
Check class dates, practical sessions, home study and case-study hours against work, family and other commitments. Ask what happens if you miss a session.
Course structure
Look at how theory, supervised practice, anatomy and physiology, case studies and assessment are organised across the course.
Teaching style and culture
Talk to the tutor and, where possible, visit the education provider. Consider class size, pace, feedback, support and whether the atmosphere feels right for you.
Your learning needs
Ask how the education provider supports different learning styles, confidence levels, disabilities or additional needs, and what help is available between classes.
Professional preparation
Confirm that the course is practitioner level, normally Level 3 or above, with meaningful face-to-face practice and a qualification that supports your intended professional route.
Do you provide practitioner-level reflexology training?
Education providers can ask IFR about course standards, listing information and the accreditation journey.
