Standards give professional membership its meaning.

IFR members uphold professional standards appropriate to their membership category. CPD is a requirement for Full Members and Tutor Members.

Competence

Practise within training, skill and professional competence, and do not treat beyond those limits.

Ethical conduct

Act in a manner befitting a professional therapist and follow the IFR Code and applicable law.

Confidentiality

Keep appropriate, current client records and protect personal and health information.

Insurance

Maintain suitable professional indemnity and public-liability cover where required for practice.

Clear information

Explain treatment fees, boundaries and relevant practice information before treatment.

Continued learning

Full Members and Tutor Members must maintain and develop their knowledge through relevant CPD and keep appropriate records.

Professional concerns are heard and handled with care.

IFR provides a clear and fair route for members and the public to ask questions, raise a concern and seek an appropriate resolution. The Code of Ethics and Practice provides a consistent framework for considering each matter carefully and constructively.
